The TST TPMS is a quality product. However it is not engineered for the repeater to be installed on an Airstream Trade Wind with its concealed batteries. Tech support was unable to provide much assistance.

After purchasing this tire monitoring system, it makes me wonder how I got by without it for the forty years I've owned Airstreams. I recently had a Good Samaritan flag me down on the interstate to tell me I had a soft tire on my trailer. Because of this Good Samaritan I was able to pull over and change the tire before it was completely flat. If not for their kindness I hate to think of the damage that may have happened to my trailer when the tire eventually came apart. I'm getting a little long in the tooth but I'm usually pretty good at installing and programing electronic gadgets. But in this case I strongly recommend you purchase from Air Gear and have them program it for you. I had trouble seeing the display in bright conditions and had to call TST customer service who helped me do the setup over the phone. However, even with their help I still missed a step that cause me some problems until Rich Luhr from Air Gear took the time to call me and help me find the error and fix it. How That's Customer Service! The TST system works great and provides piece-of-mind because you can monitor tire temps and pressures as you drive. I really like it and feel everybody should have this.

Air Gear does the research and comparisons for you. Their YouTube videos are excellent regarding the products they sell. My TPMS is exactly what I was looking for and they pre set the system for me. I am planning a cross country trip with my 23 ft Globetrotter in a couple weeks. Air Gear a must for Airstream owners

Nice unit but be warned in advance that since it has minimal user interface (just a few buttons) it is kind of cumbersome to set up. I highly recommend having the Air Gear folks pre-configure it, which was the path I took. What I did not understand was that not only did they set the pressure thresholds, but they paired the sensors to the unit. This process also assigns their location on the trailer, so all you need to do is go the screen where you would be pairing the sensors to the controller and see where they have been assigned. Super simple.

First trip with TST sensors on 31’ Airstream ~250 miles. Hard to see readout and random cycling means long diversion from road to see all temps and pressure. Began relying on audible alarm after last check about 50 miles from destination. No audible alarm generated, but sensor appears to have taken metal tire valve and hub cap with it. Tire destroyed. Why didn’t system audibly alarm when one of the tires stopped reporting?

This TPMS is pretty awesome. I ordered it pre programmed and that saved a lot of time and headache for me. Follow directions for install and all is good. I am using as a 4 tire system. Set monitor up on dash and it stays put. Did not need to use the suction cup mount. Pretty cool it comes with both since everyone’s set up is different. Get ya one !!!

This system is easy to install and works great. Really helped to have AirGear set it up with the required tire pressure and warning psi. Recommend additional sensor for spare tire. Also, know that there is a repeater that needs installed between the sensors and the receiver.

The directions could be a bit easier to follow but ultimately the sensors are easy to attach and the device synchs up readily. I have found the signal to be strong enough to capture without installing the furnished repeater but I have a smaller rig (F-150 + 22FB single axle). One thing I discovered- synching can be challenging in a crowded campground. No worries though, when you get away from all the competing signals it synchs up easily. Especially with a single axle trailer, being able to monitor the tire inflation in real-time provides a lot of peace of mind. If you get a slow leak you will know it and if it is a fast one, trust me the alarm will get your attention.

This system is definitely worth the money. It helped to alleviate my anxiety while towing my airstream. Being able to monitor the tire pressure in my Bambi while driving allows me to make corrections to the tire’s pressure, well before an accident occurs.

We were told that our steel tire valves would work, but two sensors flew off on day two of driving. We now put on shorter valves, but these make it difficult to fill up the tire. If it were not for these issues and the difficulty to get more single sensors, we would rate these a 5.

I wear a helmt when I bike. I wear a life vest when I kayak. I wear a seatbelt when I am in a vechicle. I use this TPMS. I do all those things for one reason: safety and staying alive. It is useful in making certain that the tire pressure is spot-on before I pull out of the campsite. I frequently look at it while on the road. It is another source of information that helps me to be safe while living full-time on the road.

A bit daunting to set up for a single axle camper. But after a quick phone call to an extremely knowledgeable CS Rep he helped me out and we got it set up in no time!

The sensors took a couple of tries before they would sync with the base and stay there. But that may be due to my lack of following the directions fully. The adhesive hook and loop product for attaching the repeater in my battery box seemed old since it didn’t want to stick too well being it was a 3m product. Still waiting to try the system on the road. We’ll see then if my review changes. Otherwise it seemed to be the best long lasting product out there from my research.

Having the folks at Air Gear do the initial setup and programming was extremely helpful. It allowed me to simply install the components and immediately start using it. This made it possible for me to learn how to program it at my own pace. So far I've only experimented with it. Haven't actually done an extended trip but what I have seen so far is very satisfying. I would recommend this product.

Good product. More comfortable knowing the tire pressure in my Airstream as I'm driving down the road. In fact, on my first trip with the TPMS I had a noise in a trailer wheel, and I was able to be assured it was not a tire pressure problem. TST Customer support has been awesome. Phones are answered within a minute or two, and the reps are knowledgeable about their product. One item to note is that the video on the Airstream Gear site talked about an optional bluetooth booster available, but TST support told me use of the booster was required for the warranty to be valid.

I had an inferior tire pressure monitoring system and have switched to the TST system. The previous system would give false alarms and have sensor dropouts on every other trip. Now over 5,000 miles later the TST system has worked flawlessly. No false alarms or sensor problems, just steady, reliable data from our tires. An excellent system! By the way I was the person Rich used as an example who had a poor system in one of his most recent TST videos. Thanks to Rich for selling a great system!

The sensor package works great and it is such a relief to have pressure & temperature monitoring of the two tires on our Caravel. Easy install and easy to read the data off the screen. One thing - it takes a minute or two for the transmitters to pop-up on the data screen. So don't worry that something is wrong. It's not instantaneous. And they appear one at a time not all at once.

This for us was a ‘must have’. With our single axle we were nervous about possible tire situations. Now we can monitor the temp and pressure. It really does make a difference in our comfort level. Well worth it.

Initially, I attempted to read the manual, but it was a bit confusing, so I went to the TST website and found very informative, easy-to-watch videos that were extremely helpful. Installed the device and it worked great! I am still fine tuning where to position the device during travel as it can be difficult to read the screen .

Love that it was pre-programmed for my specific settings and ready to go. Realized how much PSI rises based on temp and speed. Now feel much safer with peace of mind.

Have not used it yet, but knowing what is going on with the tires is hugely important.

I'd previously used a tire pressure monitoring system that was buggy & rife with false alarms. I recently installed (very easily) the TPMS from Airstream Life & I've found it to be accurate and user-friendly. Everyone on the road seems to be using some kind of Bluetooth device, the repeater included with the kit eliminates the interference from passing vehicles and provides consistent readings. You can find this unit for the same price from other outlets BUT, you will not get the pre-programming, (invaluable), expert support or the one phone call away Airstream-specific advice offered by the always helpful and expert staff at the Airstream Life store. Of course, there are helpful videos available from the store as well. It's cheap insurance against the danger and damage an undetected tire problem can cause. You shouldn't be without it.

Easy install with preprogrammed unit. Out on the road, the single most important factor to me is the alarm which is activated by a sudden loss of air pressure. That’s the reassurance. I do glance at the monitor as it moves through the four tires on my FC 25 Airstream periodically, but address it no more than a review of other gages such as fuel level, transmission temperature, etc. A worthwhile purchase IMO.

Easy to install and easy to use.

Received the TPMS from AL in about three days. Set-up was a bit tedious but once you figure it out it’s not so bad. The unit works very well. I just charge it and stick it in the provided cradle so no wires on the dash. Another nice thing is not having to check pressure with a guage every time you head out. Highly reccomend. Great piece of mind!

Purchased the TST Tire Pressure Monitor from the Airstream Life Store. The dealer pre-programmed the device for me so it was ready to install. Installation of the sensors on each tire was easy including the repeater that I wired in to my Airstream battery. The display sets nicely in the center of my truck dashboard. The device works exactly as advertised. I am a very happy camper.

The TST tpms was easy to install, and is performing as advertised. We are newbies, but I can not envision towing our trailer any distance without a tire monitoring system. Not only is knowing the PSI of each tire extremely important, I have to believe the tire temperature would also give an early warning of wheel bearing issues, brake problems, etc. (anything generating abnormal heat at a tire). The initial setup of the individual wheel sensors and understanding the position options on the monitor could have clearer instruction, but once figured out was setup was easy. Installation of the individual senors on the four tires and spare was very straightforward. An instructional video on the monitor setup and selecting positions on the monitor for the tires would be helpful and a time saver. We towed for the first time several days ago, approximately 200 miles, and the system worked flawlessly. Sitting on the dash in the cradle was convenient, however the display is difficult to see in bright sun. It was easy to move to a better position, not an issue to me. Love the fact that the monitor does no require power attachment while in use, and it can be left in the trailer, charged and ready to go. Before leaving the trailer to begin the tow, a quick review of the monitor can verify the state of all the tires. Then just take the monitor to the tow vehicle!

The TPMS was an easy installation, especially with the tire pressure programming done in advance. Wiring in the repeater to the battery box was easy as well. Everything worked great on our first trip with it. It was nice to be able to have real-time information of the tires on the trailer and the spare. Excellent product!

Easy to install, works flawlessly. It is so accurate that it made me realize that my tire pressure gauge was bad! I texted with Airstream Life in off hours and received a super fast response. These people are awesome. I will buy from them again.

I got it for 2007 classic limited mount the booster in the closet above the axles an it seems to work well sent the signal from camper to the garage where the tow vehicle was parked thinking it should be super thanks

Purchased this system because of too many false alarms on a competitor’s system. Ten false alarms to one real alarm was too much. The real alarm did prevent a larger problem from happening, but the false alarms were too nerve wracking. Had loss of signal alarms even when using a repeater and new batteries. Lastly the displayed pressures were 3psi high confirmed by 2 tire gauges. The programming option from the Airstream Life store was great! The repeater has pre-attached ring terminals that made attaching it to the batteries very simple. I just put the identified sensors on the tires shown and their pressures were displayed within 3 minutes, and they were accurate. Out of the box and ready to use is a great benefit. Will report on how well the system work after our next trip.

Seems to take time to pair up sensors at each startup

Great product. Easy to install - works great. One of the sensors didn't register - turns out the battery was a bit low. I replaced it and it worked fine. They sent me a new battery, which I didn't request. Great customer service.

Would definitely suggest the pre-programming option as setting the pressure isn't that difficult, but selecting the trailer configuration is (the system is designed for trucks with many more tires). One issue I'm having after 500 miles - I have the AS OEM tires and valve stems and the (cap not flow thru) sensors are clearly moving while in motion and leaving marks on the rims. I'm not so concerned about whether these marks are permanent, but after some reading on airforums, I'm concerned about damage to the stems, which would be a darkly ironic situation. It does seem to work well, so I'm weighing whether it's worth changing the valve stems to use it.

Took a 6 week trip out west (from South Carolina) and while in Tuscon I went into store. Great visit - added 2 items to improve camping experience 1) TPMS and (2) 50' curly water hose. Both as advertised -- high quality and big improvements. I have bought other items on-line (blankets, books, etc) but I was curious about store. Good products & good people. I'll use them again.

An additional margin of safety while towing. Airstream Life Store preprogrammed the unit to our desired PSI, and it was pretty much plug and play. Two holes to drill in the battery box to mount the repeater, a simple 12v power connection, and we are in business! The display sits on the dash on a non-slip pad, is easy to read, and charges with a USB connection. We have a 1,000 mile + tow coming up. We’re going to appreciate that extra margin of safety of being advised of low tire pressure or heat buildup, hopefully preventing an accident or damage o our Airstream from a blowout. The programming of the sensors looks a little complicated, so we really appreciated getting the unit set up and ready to go. Thank you Airstream Life Store!

Our TST tire pressure monitoring system came pre-programmed and was essentially ‘plug and play’. It looks like the programming can be a little tricky, so this was a nice bonus. We’re looking forward to that added safety margin, and, who doesn’t like a tecky toy that keeps you safer. The staff at Airstream Life Store are always friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with newbies. A pleasure to do business with!

It brings peace of mind when you know your tires are in good shape when your driving through rush hour traffic in Atlanta. Also when you are travelling at 70 mph in the middle of a group of tractor trailers.

I have installed the tire Monoriting Sytem on the trailer/TV but have yet to try it on the road. The transaction was flawless though...Airstream Life rocks!

I have a six tire system on my 34 ft. Excella. It is comforting to be able to monitor tire pressure on the road. A friend blew a tire on his SOB and didn't know for several miles. Needless to say he did a great amount of damage to his trailer. I bought this system for our second trailer, a 25 ft. Safari. I went with Airstream life store because they set the pressure parameters for me, not a big chore but still it takes time. The price was competitive with other vendors. Shipping was fast and I appreciated getting the system from someone who knows a little about Airstreams.

What a peace of mind. Just took the maiden voyage pulling our Airstream International 30’from Oklahoma to Tennessee. Hooked up the repeater and has continuous temps and pressures the whole time. Won’t travel with a trailer without the TPMS. Thanks for setting the tire pressures for me!

All I can say is it's worth the piece of mind. I believe in good tires,but things can happen. I travel some without the husband. If your investing in an airstream, this is just another small investment. The TST came programmed from the lifestyle store with detail instructions (handwritten). It was easy peasy to install.

We just returned from a road trip to the north and were so thankful that we purchased this monitoring system! Our very first day we were in heavy traffic near DC and the system's alarm went off saying that we were losing air pressure fast on our Airstream tire. We had no warning and could not yet feel anything going on with the tire and were able to pull off the exit safely and change it. I would recommend this product 100%, as it worked beautifully and saved us from what could have been a dangerous situation.

I actually bought a ten (10) sensor unit. Four sensors for my truck (plus one for the spare tire), and four sensors for the twin-axle trailer (plus one for the spare tire). I bought the cap sensors, because the rims on my 2007 Safari did not have enough clearance with the steel valve stems to support the flow-thru sensors. The steel valve stems point directly toward the center of the hub of the rim. I mounted the signal repeater on the trailer frame between the battery box and the front storage compartment of the trailer. The antenna of the signal repeater sticks up just above the steel frame of the trailer. It is hard-wired into the battery, so I can pull the signal repeater fuse if I will not be using the trailer for a while to help prevent any drain on the battery. The display unit sits in the storage tray at the top center of the dash of my 2018 RAM 2500. It works as designed, and I am able to keep track of all of my tires without having to leave the truck. It takes about 2-3 minutes to display the temperature and pressure information for all of my tires after it is powered on. It was well worth the purchase price for me to have the peace of mind knowing that all is well with all of my tires (especially my spares). I was reminded of this when I was driving down the road, and passed a truck and RV trailer on the side of the road changing a trailer tire. It was obvious that the driver did not know he had a flat tire on the trailer, as the trailer tire was completely shredded. The TPMS would have alerted them to the issue before the trailer tire was completely destroyed.

I upgraded to this unit from a Tire Minder. It gives me all the information I want to see and allows alarms to be set too. The size of the display is very easy to view while driving.

Easy install, works perfectly!

The cost is much less then if I would split/blow a tire with the collateral damage to the Airstream underbody! I had trouble with the set up as the sales rep did not set everything correctly at first but he talked me through on the phone later! They did not stay for the whole week but closed their booth two days early! It is great to follow things as the temp/changes with the pressure & road surface. I trust I can call again anytime for more more guidance/questions.

The Tire Monitor Worked Perfect! At The International Rally 2 Of Our Tires Were Low It Picked It Right Up! Even If You Check Them Always This Unit Make Sure Of The Pressure And When Traveling The Heat Too Avoid A Major Problem On The Road!

I plugged it in and it worked right away. The salesman never told me about the washer that needed to be installed. A neighbor told me so I added them. One tire went down to 70 psi and boy did it alarm. Scared me.

Cross country adventure total 4000 miles. TPMS made the trip a lot more enjoyable with constant tire pressure monitoring. The peace of mind provided by this product is invaluable. The easy to use features make this a simple to use piece of technology that is essential to safely monitor the tires temperature and pressure. Easy to set up, the owners manual is easy to understand and the unit comes with two handy stands for set up in any car or truck. The TPMS was a little expensive however the cost of the technology is well worth the value created.

Ordered and unit arrived very timely. Communication on order processing and shipping progress/arrival very helpful. I ordered the unit not programed to the sensors as I always want to fully understand my equipment. Instruction manual was well written allowing me to program and have the system operational within a few minutes. System starts up quickly while I hitch-up. Really liked the fact that the monitor is battery operated. I only have so many 12 volt outlets in the truck, and other equipment has claimed those. Great service that Airstream life set up the pleasure settings to my specs before shipping it out. I will travel more relaxed knowing my tires are being monitored.

The TMS is a great addition to our towing kit. It is an excellent product with great reviews.

I bought it to use with my Basecamp and it works great. Since the trailer is short, I did not even bother to install the booster and their is no problem getting the signals to the sensor. I am very pleased with my purchase. The only negative I can think of it the display brightness. It needs to be brighter. As it is, it is difficult to read while wearing sunglasses

Having tire pressure monitors brings peace of mind when towing. The consequences of a blowout could be huge. The TST system was easy to set up and use, and it has performed flawlessly so far.

We are new to both RVing and Airstream, and making sure we are as safe as we can be. I knew a TPMS was on our list of “must haves.” I actually ordered a TPMS from Amazon but when I went to program it, found the instructions complicated. I wasn’t confident I had it done right so I returned it. I looked here at Airstream Life, saw their video about TPMS in which they said they would program it. What a service, can’t beat that. I subsequently ordered it on a Sunday and chatting with someone from Airstream Life through their website and asked if they would program it. They did. Terrific service.

I wish that I had switched to this TPMS system 2 years ago. I love that it monitors the tire temperature and the pressure. Oh and did I mention it also monitors the spare. OBTW, it arrived all set up for my specific tires, so it was “plug and play” right out of the box.

Thank the goodness I ordered this TPMS!!! I recently received the TST and installed it early this week on my Airstream 27FB for a 300+ mile trip I’m taking this weekend. I didn’t even hit the road (and thank goodness I didn’t), I discovered a slow leak with one of the tires. Turned out it was a bad valve stem. Without the TPMS, there is a very real possibility I would not have discovered this issue until I was on the road and damage may have ensued to my Airstream. Thank goodness for the sometimes annoying email ads (kinda kidding here lol )from Airstream Life, otherwise I would never have followed through with purchasing a TPMS. I’m so glad I did! Thank you so much Airstream Life for possibly saving me thousands of dollars in damage to my Airstream! If there is anyone out that is ‘on the fence’ in deciding to purchase a TPMS, I very highly recommend you purchase one, particularly the TST. I have found the TST very easy to use. Well done! Great article. I was surprised you singled out a brand, but we Debbie and I agree completely. We replaced our eight year-old TPMS this summer with the TST. Impressive! It's all the things your article claims plus the rechargeable battery goes a long long time. We charged it over a month ago and have towed over 2,000 miles without recharging. We really like this TST unit better.
